Study Stages

The study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of Schedule ‘C’ of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) (2007), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The Municipal Class EA process is shown below and includes:

Phase 1 – identify the problem and / or opportunity being addressed
Phase 2 – identify alternative solutions
Phase 3 – identify alternative design concepts for the preferred solution
Phase 4 – prepare and file and Environmental Study Report
Phase 5 – proceed to detailed design, construction and operation

Class EA Process

Public consultation is an important part of the study. We want to ensure that anyone with an interest in this study has the opportunity to get involved and provide input before any decisions are made on a preferred concept for the corridor improvements. The main steps in the public consultation process and how they relate to the phases in the Municipal Class EA process are illustrated below.
